Puerto Rico will have home-court advantage and plenty of punch on the hardwood as they seek to clinch their first Olympic berth since 2004, when they shocked the USA on opening day in Athens.
The Boricuas will be in Group B with a powerhouse Italy, the country that won the Belgrade OQT to reach the Tokyo Olympics three years ago, and a dangerous Bahrain.
There will be plenty of spectators wearing the green and yellow for the games in Group A because that is where Lithuania, one of the best-supported national teams in international basketball, will be. Mexico, seeking their first Olympic qualification since 1976, and Côte d'Ivoire, attempting to reach the Summer Games for the first time in their history, are also in Group A.
Only the country that wins the OQT Final on July 7 will advance to the Men’s Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024.
There are a lot of games at all four OQTs that have fans have circled on their calendars, with Piraeus, Riga and Valencia also host cities.
