Her World, Her Rules

The 'Her World, Her Rules' (#HWHR) campaign is one of FIBA's most recognized initiatives in women's basketball and is a unique project and social media campaign aimed at promoting women's and girls' basketball across the globe through various activities delivered in partnership with National Federations.

#HWHR is designed to unite women and girls through basketball and help define grassroots projects, targeting schoolgirls aged between 6 and 15. FIBA offers advice and funding for several actions taking place as part of its global strategy and #HWHR is supported by the EuroLeague Women.

In 2021, FIBA opened the #HWHR to all National Federations as part of its strategy, a program initially led by FIBA's Regional Office in Europe since 2018, with the aim of further helping National Federations as they strive to create awareness and to develop basketball for girls and women in their respective countries. 70 National Federations received funding with #HWHR reaching all corners of the globe.

The project is supported by some of the most prominent female players such as Alba Torrens, Emma Meesseman, Maria Vadeeva, Breanna Stewart, Sonja Vasic and Candice Dupree, who give their full endorsement.

As part of FIBA's commitment to further develop the game of basketball for women and girls, FIBA has made Women in Basketball a key focus of their strategic priorities for 2019-2023. Uniting all development programs under the one same name and brand through #HWHR, FIBA aims to amplify the exposure of women's basketball, attract more media attention, and, ultimately, increase the participation of girls in basketball.

It was announced in 2021 that FIBA's Global Partner, TCL, would be supporting the program through the launching of a global campaign called 'Inspire Greatness'.

National Federations are encouraged each year to apply to be part of this program, with successful applicants receiving funding to help support their development efforts.
